Your privacy matters. This policy explains what LinguaPlay collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and human-readable — if anything is unclear, email us at privacy@linguaplay.com.

1. What we collect

• Account information. Your email address and Google account ID when you sign in.
• Usage statistics. Aggregate metrics like how many minutes you've translated this month, which platforms you use, and error logs.
• Translation history. The video URLs you translate and the resulting subtitles, so you can rewatch instantly without re-translating.
• Billing information. Handled by Stripe — we never see your full card details.

2. How we use it

• To create and manage your account.
• To deliver the translation service and sync history across devices.
• To improve accuracy, performance, and reliability.
• To enforce monthly quotas on free, Pro, and Power plans.
• To send you essential service emails (e.g. receipts, security notices).

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not show you advertisements.
• We do not share your translation history with other users.
• We do not track your browsing outside of pages where you actively use LinguaPlay.

4. Third-party services

LinguaPlay relies on a small number of trusted providers to operate:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage.
• OpenAI — Whisper transcription and GPT-4 translation.
• Groq — high-speed inference for live captions.
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro and Power plans.

Audio sent to OpenAI and Groq is processed transiently and not used to train their models, per their enterprise terms.

5. Data retention

Translation history is kept as long as your account is active so you can rewatch any video instantly. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and translation history within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain billing records.

6. Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete your account at any time. Just email privacy@linguaplay.com from the address linked to your account.

7. Children

LinguaPlay is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of LinguaPlay after a change means you accept the revised policy.
